Woman set on fire
KARACHI – A woman, Afzal Bibi, 35, was allegedly set on fire by her husband, Ali Asghar in Gilgat Colony Korangi on April 23 according to Zaman Town Police.
She was admitted in Civil Hospital with 97 percent burns, where she died later. In her statement, Afzal Bibi said that she was asleep, when her husband torched her by throwing oil on her body. Police said, she married with Ali Asghar around 16 years ago and was childless. Several medical tests were conducted but nothing proved wrong in her case. Later, she forced her husband to get tested as he was found impotent. So it was the bone of contention between two, police said.
Woman strangled to death
A woman, Nadia, 20, w/o Ali Gohar was strangled to death in her house in Korangi 2, Sector 48-D, according to Zaman Town Police.
A girl, Nasrin, 9, was present in the house at the time of incident, who identified the suspect as Shahid, the brother-in-law of Ali Gohar.
Police suspected that woman was raped too. Police registered case against the culprit, who had run away.
Body found
A few days old body of an unknown man, in his fifties, was found floating on water in sea near Ghas Bandar, according to Docks Police. The corpse was, shifted to Edhi morgue.
