Man kills daughter in Faisalabad over love marriage

FAISALABAD   –   A man shot dead two persons, in­cluding his daughter, for contract­ing marriage of her own choice in the limits of Roshan Wala police sta­tion on Tuesday.

According to police, Zubaria had contracted marriage with Mohsin Maseih against the will of her father, Khalid, a resident of Yasir Town lo­cated near Chak No 233-RB Hurising­hwala, Samundri Road. A gathering (Panchayat) was called over the is­sue, when he opened fire. As a result, Zubaria and her uncle, Ashraf Maseih, died on the spot.

The police have shifted the bodies to mortuary for autopsy by collecting forensic evidence from the site. On the notice of CPO Kamran Adil, the police arrested the accused and recovered the weapon used in the crime.

Man murders wife, daughter over ‘honour’

LAHORE: A woman and her young daughter were allegedly murdered in the name of honour in at Alfalah Town, while eight persons were injured in an armed clash between two groups in North Cantonment area.

The first incident, the suspect, Mohabbat Khan, allegedly attacked his wife Shahnaz (45) and her daughter Samia (18) with a dagger, leaving them dead on the spot.

A police official said the Dolphin Squad personnel, immediately responding to a 15 call, reached the house where they found bodies of the two women.

He said the personnel managed to arrest the alleged killer after a brief chase when he was trying to escape. The suspect claimed he killed the mother and her daughter for ‘honour’.

In the other incident, he said, eight persons, including Sakhawat, Safdar and Wajid were injured when two residents of North Cantonment area clashed over a minor issue and opened fire.

The suspects fled the scene and police are conducting raids to arrest them, the police official said.

Rawalpindi Man surrenders after deadly honour stabbing

RAWALPINDI: An enraged man stabbed his stepmother’s friend to death in the name of honour and injured her in the Dhamial area on Sunday.

Shafat Hussain, a resident of Girja Road, lodged a police complaint stating that his stepmother and her cousin Nadeemul Hassan, who had been staying at his house since Saturday, were found in an objectionable condition at night. He observed them until 4am. Unable to tolerate it any longer, he stabbed them, killing Nadeemul Hassan on the spot and critically injuring his stepmother. Hussain claimed he acted in the name of honour and called the police to surrender himself.

Woman, 3 daughters killed ‘in the name of honour’

SWAT: A mother and her three daughters were found dead inside their house in Kabal area of Swat district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.

The incident caused widespread panic in the entire locality. Police told The Express Tribune that local residents and brother of the deceased woman informed them about the incident and when they reached the site they found the four unfortunate women dead.

An official said that the woman was killed by her husband along with the three daughters and after three days he called his brother-in-law about the incident.

When the man reached their house along with the neighbours he found the four dead bodies and immediately informed the local police who also reached the spot and shifted the bodies to hospital for autopsy.

“The accused has reportedly fled to Muscat, Oman after committing the crime in cold blood,” claimed the police official.

“The accused himself called his brother-in-law from Muscat and informed him that he had killed his wife and three daughters,” he said, adding that all the four women had been shot.

Woman’s body to be exhumed in honour-killing case

GUJRAT: The body of a married woman who was killed by her own family in an honour-related issue will be exhumed for autopsy at village Mangowal Sharqi on July 11.

Raheela, 29, was allegedly suffocated by her husband, Adeel, and her brother on June 22. However, the family had buried her after telling the area people that she had died of a heart attack.

Jalalpur Jattan Saddar police booked at least three members of the family and arrested her husband after registration of a case on charges of murder.

Magistrate Abdul Sattar ordered the exhumation of the body as well as the formation of a medical board by the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital (ABSTH) to conduct the autopsy after exhumation.

The main suspect, Adeel, is on physical remand whereas the remaining two suspects, including the brother of the woman and her brother-in-law were on interim bail until July 12.
