Islamabad, 28-Jan-2026 (PPI): Seventeen suspicious persons and seven motorbikes have been taken into custody for verification following extensive search and combing operations conducted by law enforcement across various parts of the federal capital.
The city-wide initiative, carried out under the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, saw significant police deployment supervised by zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs).
During the crackdown, authorities checked 217 individuals, 96 residences, 14 commercial shops, 53 motorcycles, and 26 other vehicles as part of the heightened security measures.
In a statement, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Operations in Islamabad confirmed the objective of the operations is to tighten the grip on criminal elements and bolster security throughout the city.
The SSP added that similar intelligence-led operations are ongoing across the district, with law enforcement continuing its indiscriminate actions against criminals, land-grabbing mafias, and narcotics traffickers.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious activity to their nearest police station or the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline.
