Police still clueless about rape suspect Abid

Even after the passage of 11 days police are yet clueless about the main suspect of motorway gang rape case. On the other side the question of arrest of the main accused in the rape case on the motorway remained ‘meaningless’ to the CCPO. When a reporter asked him about the fact that accused Abid has not been arrested yet, Omar Sheikh started calling the journalist strange instead of answering the question.
According to sources, the accused was in touch with his relatives a few days ago. Pictures of the accused also surfaced. Police have expanded the scope of investigation against the accused but to no avail. The only development in above said case was that Abid Malhi, the main accused in the rape case, was declared the most wanted accused this year. Police then sought help from the public and a reward of Rs 25 lakh was fixed for the arrest of the main accused Abid.
According to details, when CCPO Omar Sheikh reached the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court, the journalist asked about the arrest of the main accused in the rape case. Everyone is waiting for the arrest of the accused but the CCPO left without giving an effective answer to the most important question, calling the journalist strange. The same question was asked to IG Punjab on the occasion of his arrival at the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court. When asked about the non-arrest of the accused, Inam Ghani did not respond and remained silent. Constitutional experts say the public has a right to be aware of the facts about the non-arrest of the accused.
It may be recalled that a few days ago, regarding the motorway incident, CCPO Lahore Omar Sheikh said that why the alone woman adopted motorway in the middle of the night. Why didn’t she go from GT Road where there was population? However Police have arrested another relative of accused Abid in motorway abuse case. Police said that teams were sent to Sindh and KP for the arrest of accused Abid Malhi. 28 teams are currently investigating from different angles for the arrest of the accused. The accused is still at large. Soon the accused will be in the custody of the law. One accused involved in the case has been arrested by the police.
