LAHORE. Qila Gujjar Singh police arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a female student for
two years under the false pretext of marriage. The suspect, identified as Babar, was taken into custody
following a complaint filed by the victim. According to police officials, the accused first contacted the
victim through social media and gradually manipulated her into a relation- ship by promising marriage.
Over the course of two years, he allegedly repeatedly assaulted her while issuing death threats to prevent
her from speaking out. The victim finally approached authorities after enduring prolonged abuse. The accused used emotional manipulation and physical violence to control the victim, stated a police
spokesperson. Investigators confirmed they have seized digital evidence, including chat histories, to build the case. Babar has been handed over to the Anti Gender Based Crime Unit for further interrogation.
