LAHORE: THE Lahore High Court on Monday took notice of a news item published in a section of Press about kidnapping, raping and murder of a 13-year-old girl on her way to school.
District & Sessions Judge Sargodha has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.Ill-fated girl was on her way to school in Istaqlalabad with her brother on a motorcycle when the vehicle broke down.
Her brother asked her to walk to school. When her brother went to pick her up from school, he was told that she did not reach the school. Her brother and parents looked for her in the village but found her body floating in the Pichasi Jhaal canal. It was pulled out and sent for a post-mortem. Police said there were bruises on the girl’s body leading to a speculation that she had been raped before she was killed. The Lahore High Court (LHC) Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the D&SJ concerned to look into the matter and submit report within a week.
