Doctor murdered by estranged husband

LAHORE: A man allegedly killed his estranged wife in Cantonment on Monday.

North Cantonment police said Capt Shazia, 37, was living with her three children and working in Combined Military Hospital (CMH).

They said the victim and her husband, Abdul Rehman, a landlord from Jhang, had separated after he contracted a second marriage.

Police said the incident took place in CMH Colony when the suspect hit his wife in the head with a blunt weapon and critically injured her. He later fled from the scene.

The injured was shifted to CMH where she could not survive.

Police shifted the body to morgue and registered a case against the suspect on the complaint of the victim’s brother.

Station House Officer Shabbir Husain told Dawn that police were conducting raids to arrest the suspect.
