KHAIRPUR – Anti Terrorist Court (ATC) Khairpur on Tuesday directed IG Sindh and DIG Sukkur Range Police to form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the rape and murder case of Monika Larik within 15 days.

The court conducted the hearing of the case in which accused were produced from central jail. On the application of Monika’s parent, ATC judge Naeem Malik passed orders to IGP Sindh Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar and DIG Sukkur Range Police to form JIT in the rape and murder case within 15 days. The parents expressed dissatisfaction over the investigation conducted by Khairpur police in the case. It may be noted that an eight-year-old girl, Monika, was murdered after rape on 11 Jan 2021 near Pir Jo Goth. To date, the police have arrested three accused in the case.
