Islamabad, 26-Jan-2026 (PPI): Pakistan and Myanmar have addressed the pressing issue of citizens affected by international scamming operations during high-level bilateral discussions held in the Pakistani capital. The matter was a key part of talks between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and the visiting Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, H.E. U Than Swe.

The meeting, which took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was part of the Myanmar Foreign Minister’s official bilateral visit to Pakistan. The visit provided a platform for a comprehensive dialogue on the full range of relations between the two countries.

The two ministers reviewed the current state of bilateral ties and explored avenues to bolster cooperation in trade, economic engagement, capacity-building, and humanitarian assistance. They also exchanged views on matters concerning regional peace and security.

Recalling the longstanding friendship between the two nations, both sides underscored the importance of deepening cultural cooperation. They agreed on the need to promote people-to-people exchanges, including through academic linkages, youth engagement, and various cultural initiatives.

H.E. U Than Swe specifically highlighted religious tourism as a meaningful opportunity to fortify cultural bonds and enhance connectivity between the peoples of Pakistan and Myanmar.
