On February 13, a man arrested for the alleged assault of a 17-year-old mentally disabled girl. The incident reportedly occurred in the Gulberg area of Lahore.

According to police reports, the suspect, identified as Shehryar, allegedly deceived the teenager into accompanying him to an undisclosed location where the assault took place. Following the event, the victim informed her older sister about the ordeal, who then alerted the authorities.

Lahore police, utilizing human intelligence, located and apprehended the suspect in Makkah Colony within hours of receiving the emergency call. The case has since been transferred to the Gender Cell for further investigation and proceedings.

Superintendent of Police for Model Town, Shehrbano Naqvi, confirmed that a formal case has been registered against Shehryar. She emphasized the police department’s commitment to ensuring justice and underscored that there would be no leniency for individuals exploiting vulnerable groups.
