On February 13, First Information Report (FIR) lodged against a police inspector, accused of raping a woman multiple times under various pretexts, including marriage, over a span of several years. The accusations also include making threatening videos and using them for blackmail. The FIR was lodged on February 12 at the McLeod Ganj Police Station in Bahawalpur.
According to the FIR, the relationship between the inspector, formerly the Station House Officer (SHO) at McLeod Ganj, and the victim began approximately seven to eight years ago. The inspector, identified as Aslam Baloch, allegedly first assaulted the woman in 2021 at a residence near the police station where he was stationed. During this assault, he reportedly filmed the act and threatened the victim with death for her and her family if she disclosed the incident.
The report details further that over the years, Baloch summoned the woman to various locations, where he continued to assault her. The victim, a resident of Ahmad Garden in tehsil Kahror Pucca, has a daughter from these assaults, born four years ago. A recent incident on February 8 involved Baloch visiting the victim’s home and assaulting her again. This confrontation escalated when the victim questioned the paternity of her daughter, leading to Baloch verbally abusing her publicly.
Adding to the complexity of the case, Baloch’s brother allegedly threatened the victim, suggesting a DNA test for the child to establish her claims about the father’s identity.
The police have initiated a search for Baloch, who evaded capture at the time of the FIR filing. Despite some police sources claiming that Baloch has been arrested, official confirmation from police spokespersons was still pending at the time of reporting.
The District Police Officer, Kamran Asghar, has taken notice of the allegations, and the police have begun intensive efforts to locate and apprehend Baloch.
