Police rescue kidnapped girl

Saddar Police Station have recovered a girl who was kidnapped from the GT Road on her way back home after appearing in her exam at a private college.

The girl was allegedly kidnapped by a former classmate of her who lived in her neighborhood. The suspect got help from his friends in kidnapping the girl.

According to the SHO of Saddar Police Station, Mehr Ismail, a 15-year-old student of a private college located on the G T Road had been on her way home from her college three days ago.

In the meantime, Zulqarnain, a resident of her area, intercepted her and told her that her father’s condition had been very critical and he had sent him to give a lift to her in his car so that she reached home earlier, he said.

Taking Zulqarnain’s words on face value, the victim sat in the car.

The car had already been carrying three people, including its driver, Ashraf. The accused allegedly took the victim to an unknown location after drugging her due to which she fell unconscious.

Police said that the medical report of the victim confirmed that she had been abused. In order to assess whether the girl had been abused by more than one person, a DNA sample was sent to a laboratory in Islamabad.

Man, woman shot dead for honor in Charsadda

CHARSADDA: A man and a woman were shot dead in the name of honor in Baakra locality of Shabqaddar tehsil here on Monday.

Police arrested the father-in-law and brother-in-law of the woman for the crime. The suspects confessed to their crime. The father-in-law of the slain woman told police that he and his son were informed about the presence of a stranger in the house of his daughter-in-law.

He said that they went there and found the stranger, who was later identified as a resident of Bakhshi Pull Peshawar, and his daughter-in-law in compromising condition.

He said that he and his son killed both of them on the spot. He said that the husband of his daughter-in-law was working as daily wager in Saudi Arabia.

The bodies of both the deceased were handed over to their relatives after conducting their postmortem in a local hospital.

Family protests as girl’s body found in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A minor girl, who had gone out of her home on some errand, was found murdered in the Railway Colony area of the provincial capital on Sunday evening.

Father of the girl, 11, told the East Cantonment police that they started search for her when she did not return home after she went out to purchase something from a nearby shop.

Later, he said they found her half-naked body stuffed in a sack from a corner of the Railway Colony. He said the body bore a wound on head, adding she was strangulated with a piece of cloth.

He said the family had no enmity with anyone.

Meanwhile, the police shifted the body to a hospital for postmortem.

According to a statement, the police had also questioned some suspects from the area, while geo-fencing of the area was also being carried out. CCTV cameras footage from the area was also being scanned.

Meanwhile, the area residents and family members took the minor’s body to the Peshawar Press Club, where they placed it on the road and staged a protest to press for arrest of the murderer(s). The protesters dispersed after police assurance that the culprits would be arrested soon

Saddar police booked two men for raping a woman on pretext of dropping her home when she was waiting for a rickshaw at Mohal Chowk.

According to the FIR, the woman, a resident of Munirabad, was waiting for a rickshaw at Mohal Chowk on July 1 at about 6pm. Two men, including a milk-seller, came there and convinced her to get into their car, saying they would drop her home.

The men, however, took her to an isolated place and one of them raped her at gunpoint before fleeing the scene. The suspects left the victim on the road.

No arrest had been made in this case so far.

Man arrested in Bahawalnagar for killing daughter over his remarriage issue

BAHAWALNAGAR: Saddar police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly strangling his teenage daughter for stopping him from another marriage and relations with other women.

According to the first information report (FIR), Allah Ditta of Basti Bahadurka had developed relations with several women and also wanted to remarry after the death of his wife who passed away about 10 months ago.

It said when Ditta’s 17-year-old daughter Hina, a college student, opposed his decision of second marriage and also stopped him from bringing other women to their home, he started subjecting her to torture.

On the day of the incident, Allah Ditta strangled his daughter after badly torturing her and spread a rumour that his daughter had died of natural causes.

The truth, however, was revealed when Hina’s aunts and other women of the neighborhood found torture marks on her body and rope marks on her neck and informed the police.

Police had booked three men, including Allah Ditta, on July 3 on the complaint of Hina’s maternal uncle Muhammad Saghir and started investigations
