KARACHI: The body of an unidentified young girl, stuffed into a parachute bag, was found in the bushes at a desolate place in Block 19 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Friday, witnesses and police said.
The Sharea Faisal police said that the body was discovered in the afternoon and it was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.
Sources at the hospital’s medico-legal section said that the victim, who appeared to be in her late teens, was subjected to severe physical torture.
They said that the victim’s body had few articles of clothing. She was stabbed in her head and hands. The sources said that the victim, whose head was shaven, had a deep cut on her right arm and a circular cut on her left wrist.
They said a preliminary examination indicated that the girl had been killed 24 hours before her body was found.
The police said that a case against unidentified culprits was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) on behalf of the state.
They said that the body was later kept at the Edhi morgue for want of identification.
