Woman’s head smashed in
ISLAMABAD: Unidentified people on Wednesday killed a woman after an alleged sexual assault on her and dumped her body near Shahdara Road in the limits of the Secretariat Police Station.Police have shifted the body to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for autopsy. The police said the woman’s head was smashed with strikes of heavy stone and scars of torture were also found on other body parts. Identification of the body could not be confirmed and police believed that the killers had raped her before committing the murder.
The case investigation officer told Daily Times that the woman might have been killed outside the limits of his police station and the killers have thrown her body here latter. PIMS Medico Legal Officer Dr Waseen Khawaja said it is premature to confirm whether the woman was raped before her murder. Journalist’s sister-in-law killed: Sister-in-law of Azim Saddique, a journalist, was killed and his wife injured in a road accident near Lawrancepur.
Saddique was traveling to a village to attend funeral of one of his relatives when his car went out of control and hit trees. Siddique, his brother Aamir and his wife have been admitted to hospital. Siddique’s wife is now in the intensive care ward, where doctors say her condition could be cleared after 48 hours. Outlaws arrested: Police have arrested 782 alleged criminals and claimed that some of them were wanted in 690 crime cases. The police have issued a statement claiming that they had recovered 372 illegal weapons from outlaws.
