Woman’s body found in Dera

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The police recovered the body of a woman from fields in a village on the outskirts of the Dera city on Saturday.

A police official said that the victim was apparently strangled and then shot in the head, and the body was buried in the fields of Sahi village.

He said that the officials of Saddar police station reached the spot after receiving information that the body of a woman, who was allegedly murdered, was buried in the fields. He said that the police dug up the ground and recovered the body and shifted it to hospital.

According to a doctor, the victim was 30 years old and the possibility of assault on her could not be ruled out. Doctors obtained the samples of various organs of the body and sent them to the forensic laboratory in Peshawar for examination.

The police also found a wallet containing Rs2, 150 cash, phone numbers written on pieces of paper, a wrist watch, earrings, a finger ring and two mobile SIMs on the body.

The Saddar police registered a case against the unknown accused and started further investigations.
