HYDERABAD: A newly-married woman has sought protection against life threats being issued to her, her spouse and in-laws because of her free-will marriage.
Speaking at a news conference at the pres club here on Tuesday, Ms Samina, resident of the village of Khan Wah, taluka Mehrabpur, district Naushahro Feroze, said that she had married Ghulam Abbas Jalbani on Oct 26 in Karachi of her own free will.
This is her legal and religious right.
She said her relatives had filed a false case of kidnapping against her husband and in-laws, though she had sent copies of Nikahnama to Naushahro Feroze police and all other concerned authorities. Seeking protection, Ms Samina said she, her husband and her in-laws had received death threats from her relatives.
PPP LEADER: Amanullah Siyal, senior vice-president of the Hyderabad district chapter of the Pakistan People’s Party, has lashed out at what he described as hidden hands who did wall-chalking in support of former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza in his name.
Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, he said that since childhood, he had been a committed PPP worker and could not even think of violating party discipline.
