Woman from minorities files papers in Buner

PESHAWAR: For the first time ever, a young woman from minorities has filed nomination papers for a general seat from Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the coming general elections.

Dr Saveera Parkash, is flexing muscles for a seat in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly. She is hopeful for a ticket of the Pakistan People’s Party for PK-25, Buner.

Dr Saveera is the daughter of philanthropist Dr Om Parkash from Daggar. Her father was associated with the PPP for the last over three decades. A number of people on social media has welcomed the decision of a female from Hindu minorities contesting polls for a general seat in the KP Assembly.

Dr Saveera has completed her MBBS studies last year from Abbotabad. Apart from PK-25, she is also a contender for the reserved seats.
