White Ribbon Day to be marked on 25th

LAHORE: Killings, rapes, kidnappings, sexual assaults and burn attacks have escalated violence against women to unbearable proportions, and a White Ribbon Day for the eradication of violence against women will be marked by a non-governmental organisation nationwide on November 25.

The White Ribbon Campaign was launched for the first time in Canada in 1991 to ask men to oppose such violence. Every year, Canadian men are asked to support the campaign by wearing a white ribbon from November 25, the international day for the eradication of violence against women. A white ribbon on men’s arms shows their pledge never to commit or condone violence against women.
