Warrants issued in Razia Kubra rape case

Karachi: Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) East, Sanaullah Ghori, issued non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against four of the witnesses and directed the investigation officer (IO) to produce them on September 1, the next date of hearing.

Three of the suspects Khadim Hussain, Raja Arif and Arif Ansari all employees of the Mazar-e-Quaid presently detained in jail. An 18-year-old woman Razia Kubra of Lodhran was gang-raped inside Mazar-e-Quaid allegedly by the employees of the Mausoleum on March 9, 2008, when she came to pay homage to the founder of the nation along with her family members.

The police registered a case under section 365/B of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) inserted into the PPC through the Protection Women Act 2006.

Tariq Road robber identified: Fifteen people, whose shops at Tariq Road had been robbed, identified culprit Sheharyar Haider during an identification parade on Monday in the court of Judicial Magistrate (JM) East Inam Ali Kalhoro. The court then sent the suspect to jail till August 23.

Sheharyar Haider alias Salman alias Simon is a notorious robber, and was wanted by the police in 10 cases. He was produced in the court in the alleged murder of an ASI in the limits of the Ferozabad police station.
