SHC issues non-bailable arrest warrant for PAF employee
Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) employee, nominated in kidnapping case of a minor girl, for not complying with the court orders. A division bench of SHC headed by Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai issued non-bailable warrants against Farhan Ali accused of kidnapping seven-year-old girl, for not joining investigation and co-operating with investigation officers despite repeated directions of the court.
The bench was seized with the hearing of the petition filed by Abdul Haleem, who sought the recovery of his minor daughter Maryum, who was kidnapped on April 7 2011. The petitioner submitted that his daughter was kidnapped outside her home in Landhi area. He said that he got registered case regarding kidnapping of her daughter at Sharafi Goth but the police did not make any effort for recovery of the missing girl.
Earlier, the court was informed by Anti-Violent Crime Cell DSP that Farhan Ali, a PAF employee at the Chaklala Airbase, was a suspect in the case. DSP Rao Muhammad Aslam said letters were written to the PAF authorities for the permission to interrogate him, but no reply had been received from them yet. The court had directed the Deputy Attorney General to issue instructions to the defence secretary and the base commander of the PAF Chaklala base to direct the suspect to cooperate with the investigation officer. The bench adjourned the hearing of case till February 11.
