Seminar in Naushahro Feroze on torture against women, children

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: A seminar on torture against women and children was held at the press club here on Friday under the aegis of the Society for Protection and Rehabilitation of Child (Sparc).

Addressing the seminar, PPP MPA Humaira Alwani said the women in Sindh were leading a miserable life and subjected to all kinds of torture in their houses as well as in the society. She stressed the need for framing laws which should be based on gender equality and should not favour anyone. The MPA said the Sindh Assembly would pass effective laws to stop the practice of torturing women and children.
