Self-employed women’s fund launched

KARACHI: Self-Employed Women’s Fund was inaugurated in Landhi Town’s 2-C Area here.

This was announced in a statement issued by the University of Karachi on Saturday. It said that the director and Faculty members of Centre of Excellence for Women’s Studies, University of Karachi, in collaboration with representatives of Anjuman Tarraqi Niswan and Asif Hasnain, MNA Landhi Town, inaugurated the fund.

Home based women workers of the area were granted loans of Rs10,000 to support and increase their businesses. The MNA stated that these grants of easy terms and conditions would help improve the condition of women and their families.

Prof Dr Nasreen Aslam Shah said they desired to see those home based women workers as successful member of the society and as a symbol to be followed by other women of Pakistan. Ms Nasim Bano expressed gratitude and said that they would utilise the easy loan facility to improve their businesses.
