KARACHI, February 09 2006: The Landhi police have registered a case against one of policeman posted at the police kiosk in Sector 36-G, Landhi, for allegedly sexually harassing a girl inside the police kiosk and started investigations.

Noorjahan, 20, a resident of Landhi locality, has complained that, Rana Tasleem, a policeman posted at the police kiosk had summoned her several times. So she went over to the kiosk in the company of her mother and brother.

On February 5, when she was summoned, she went over along with her mother and brother, she complained, adding that, Rana Tasleem, locked her brother in a room and asked her mother to go outside and subjected her to sexual assault.

Police have registered a case FIR No 21/2006, against police constable Rana Tasleem, on Noorjahan’s complaint.

The accused policeman managed to make good his escape. However, Qasim Ghouri, the Town Police Officer (TPO,) Landhi, has issued orders of suspension of absconding cop along with the Sub-Inspector Ahmed Ali, the Chowki incharge. Investigations were under way.

GANG RAPE: Meanwhile, the Gulberg police have registered a case against three youths for allegedly raping a minor girl in Rehmanabad Katchchi Aabadi in Block-5 Federal B Area on Tuesday February 7.

Area police told The News that, Saleem, has lodged a complaint stating that, Fraz, Badar and Abdul Jabbar, picked his seven-year-old daughter Aaliya and subjected her to sexual assault.

Police have begun investigations and are trying to arrest the accused persons.
