ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Museum of Natural History (PMNH), is holding a one day media workshop entitle, “Understanding Nature” her on May 18.
The workshop is being held as part of the Museum’s educational activities and celebration of 2010 as International Year of Biodiversity.
Media persons from various organisations are invited to highlight the significance of biodiversity and sensitise them to the gravity of threats to it for halting and reversing the accelerating loss of biological and genetic resources of the earth.
PMNH, Pakistan Science Foundation, is actively involved in research in natural resources and public education for their conservation and sustainable use.
The issue of fast depleting natural resources and their sustainability need an immediate attention to address it properly, Presently, the media, both electronic and print, is the most effective tool to educate people and create awareness of pressing issues among masses, as it has access to people belonging to all walks of life, said the organisers of the event.
