Pakistan Pledges Role In Shaping Equitable Global Labour Market, Eyes High-Growth Sectors

Riyadh, 27-Jan-2026 (PPI): Pakistan has declared its readiness to assume a constructive role in developing a fair, transparent, and resilient global labour market, according to the Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.

Representing the nation at the 3rd Edition of the Global Labour Market Conference (GLMC) held in Riyadh, Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain articulated the country's resolve to modernise its labour policies and enhance workforce capabilities.

He highlighted Pakistan's strategic focus on boosting skills development for high-growth sectors, specifically identifying construction, healthcare, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and logistics as key areas.

The minister also pointed to the rising importance of emerging green jobs, while underscoring the government's commitment to ethical recruitment, worker-centred mobility, and coordinated policy on migration.

Chaudhry Salik Hussain reaffirmed the nation’s preparedness to deepen collaboration with international partners to co-design skills pathways, digital mobility platforms, and ethical recruitment models.

He stated that such cooperation is essential to translate policy ambition into tangible employment outcomes for the Pakistani workforce.
