LAHORE: A five-year-old girl was strangled after being ‘raped’ allegedly by unidentified person(s) in an empty house in Sukh Nahar locality of Harbanspura on Friday.
The police said Ameen’s daughter ‘M’ had gone missing after she left her home in the morning to play with other children. Her family searched her everywhere, but in vain.
Some children, who were playing in a street situated three streets away from Ameen’s house in the evening, entered a house vacated by a family some two months ago and spotted the body of a girl.
Area elders located Ameen who recognized his daughter. A case was registered against unidentified person(s) on the complaint of Ameen.
Harbanspura Circle DSP Muhammad Mansha said the postmortem examination would determine the exact cause of the death. He said apparently the girl died of suffocation.
