Minister for authenticity of Karo-kari incidents

KARACHI: Sindh Women Development Minister Tauqir Fatima Bhutto has sought a detailed report to ascertain authenticity of alleged murder of a widow and her nephew by her brother under pretext of “Karo-kari” (honour killing).

According to details Amna, a resident of village Haji Soomar Pariri, in Tando Muhammad Khan, was allegedly killed along with her- sister’s son Abdur Rehman by Amna’s brother.

Haroon, father of Abdul Rehman, in his FIR registered at the police station said there was a monetary dispute between his son and brother in law that resulted in the gruesome incident.

Sindh Minister for Women Development has directed the area police to provide her with the details of the investigations. Tauqir Fatima Bhutto has also directed Quratulain, in-charge, Women Development Dept’s Complaint Center to collect all details and authenticity of the incident and keep the minister well informed.
