Marriage bureau owner stabbed to death

Karachi: A marriage bureau owner was stabbed to death inside her house in the Sharea Faisal police limits.

The body of a 35-year-old woman was recovered from a flat in the Noman Grand City situated in Block-17, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, the police said, adding that the victim had been tortured and stabbed to death by unidentified men. A case was registered on the complaint of her brother-in-law, Saeed Khan.

Khan said that his sister-in-law lived alone because her husband, Nusratullah (Khan’s brother), worked at a private firm in Lahore. He occasionally visited Karachi to see his wife. The two had been married for 13 years but they had no children due to which they were quite disturbed. Later, the victim had asked her husband if she could set up a marriage bureau and was granted permission. She started working inside her house to help the poor.

Khan said that they had no enmity with anyone and did not know who had killed his sister-in-law.
