Man shaves wife’s head

NAWABSHAH: A man shaved off head of his wife before subjecting her to severe torture and burning her hand with a hot iron rod in Daur town on Saturday on suspicion she had illicit relations with another man.

Reports said that after subjecting his wife to humiliation and torture, Jam Shaikh tied her hands and locked her in a room. But she managed to wriggle herself free and managed to escape to her brother’s house.

Niaz Ali, the woman’s brother later lodged an FIR at Daur police station against the accused.

SCREENED: More than 62 people were found hepatitis positive at a free eye camp organised by the People’s Doctors Forum in Balu-Ja-Qubba village on Friday. The doctors said that a team of ophthalmologists checked more than 900 patients and operated upon about 200 patients.

Out of 262 patients suffering from cataract, 52 were found positive for hepatitis C and 10 for hepatitis B, they said.
