Karachi: A 22-year-old woman was strangled to death by her husband at their residence in Korangi on Tuesday.
The incident took place in Zia Colony and police said the killer, Saijd, had turned himself in voluntarily and confessed to killing his wife, Nadia, over suspected illicit relations.
Police said the couple were married three years ago and had a daughter. The killer claimed that his wife had recently started speaking to an unknown man on her cellphone and, despite his repeated warnings, refused to stop.
He alleged that her activities had gained momentum over the past few days, and told investigators that he had punished her for staining his family’s honour.
The victim’s body was handed over to the parents after legal formalities and a case was registered against the murderer.
