Man kills sister for frequent fights with husband

RAWALPINDI: A man late on Saturday shot down his sister, a mother of five, for her frequent fights with husband.

The slain woman’s husband, Akbar Shah of Dhoke Mai Sarwar, told Airport Police that he had complained to his wife Shehr Bano’s parents of her unruly behaviour. He said the woman had recently left the house following a dispute with him.

He said his brother-in-law Abdul Ghani, angered by recurring complaints against his sister, entered his house and sprayed Bano with bullets. He said his wife died of critical wounds in the hospital.

Shah said his brother and niece were a witness to the assault.

Police arrested the alleged killer after registering a murder case against him. They got the body autopsied before handing it over to the family for burial and beginning investigation into the killing.

Meanwhile, an army officer’s house was burgled and two vehicles were lifted in the city’s two different areas.

Lt Col Muhammad Malik of Adiala Road informed Saddar Bairooni Police that unidentified people broke into his house on Adiala Road and made off with gold jewelry, a television set, a DVD, a VCR and other valuables when he along with his family was away.

Amjad Ali lodged a complained with Westridge Police that unidentified auto-thieves had stolen his car in Qasimabad. Asad Mehmood reported to Taxila Police that his car (RIA-8705) was lifted in Wahdat Colony.

Meanwhile, Banni Police arrested two men for violating ban on sale of kites and twine.

Besides arresting Saeed Irfan and Hamid Khan, police also seized around 2,000 kites and 20 balls of chemically treated string. They registered separate cases and began investigation.
