JACOBABAD: A teenage girl and a boy were killed by their cousin on the pretext of karo-kari in Massan Mohalla, Thul, on Wednesday.
The accused had killed his wife, aunt and cousin five years ago but came out of prison due to out-of-court settlement.Irfan Buriro, 18, and Zaibul, 14, both cousins, lived in a joint family.
They were talking to each other in their house when the girl’s brother Ayaz Ali arrived there and opened fire at them, killing them on the spot.
Later, he went to bazaar and opened fire at one Ghulam Nabi Noonari, accusing him of having illicit relations with his mother. However, Ghulam Nabi remained unhurt and Ayaz took to his heels.
The bodies were handed over to relatives after post-mortem at a local hospital.
The girl’s father, Ranjhan Buriro, has lodged an FIR against his son under section 302, PPC, with the Thul police.Five years ago, Ayaz had shot dead his wife Sughra, aunt Basran and cousin Ghulam Rasool on the pretext of karo-kari. He was arrested and remained in prison for four months.
Then, he was released as the FIR was quashed following an out-of-court settlement.Meanwhile, Citizens Action Committee activists took out a rally in Thul to protest against deteriorating law and order situation in the town.
Their leaders Liaquat Sarki and Jan Mohammad Jafri said that had Ayaz been awarded punishment for the earlier triple murder, his innocent cousins would not have lost their lives.
