HYDERABAD: A man lost his temper when his wife refused to sleep with him when her elder sister and her husband were in an adjacent room in their small house, and killed her, the sister and her husband by slitting their throats on Sunday.

Police have arrested the accused, Ayub Qureshi alias Pappu, and registered a case against him on a complaint lodged by his brother-in-law, Rasheed. The knife used in the crime has been found.

When Ayub was in a rage, his mother left the house with her younger son and her grandchildren in a state of shock and went to her elder son Yusuf in Qasimabad. Yousuf went to Ayub’s house along with Cantonment police SHO Ibrahim Shah and found the bodies lying in a pool of blood there. He identified the victims as Samina, wife of Ayub, her sister Saima and her husband Hassan.

Samina’s body was on a sofa and Hassan’s in a corner of the same room. Saima’s body was found in the other room. Ayub, who is a butcher by profession, did not escape and kept talking to the family of his uncle on phone who kept him engaged till Yusuf arrived there with police.

He first denied his involvement in the murders and claimed that someone who had a grudge against Hassan had murdered them because Hassan had married Saima against her parent’s wishes.

Police later found the knife in a drum and Ayub’s blood-stained clothes on a heap of garbage near a school. “When I woke up at around 2.30 am I found my wife and Hassan in a compromising position, I first slit the throat of my wife and then her elder sister’s,” he said.

The post-mortem has been conducted and bodies have been handed over to Rasheed.
