LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday took notice of a press report that a 10-year-old girl was raped and murdered by her cousin in the Muradabad area of Muzaffargarh District.
The LHC directed the district sessions judge to look into the matter and submit detailed report regarding steps taken by the police so far along with his own comments within a week.
The police said that two sisters, including the 10-year-old, were kidnapped by their cousin.
The family launched a search for the girls. Some people spotted the body of girl dumped in fields and informed the police. The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to hospital for an autopsy. The medical report confirmed that the 10-year-old had been strangled after being raped. The police arrested the suspect and recovered the other kidnapped girl from his custody.
