LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday took notice of a press report that a man threw acid on the face of his wife. The Chiniot district and sessions judge has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a report regarding the steps taken by the police with his own comments.
The woman had a reciprocal (wata sata) marriage. Due to this, the relations between the spouses and other family members remained strained. The woman left her husband’s home and went to her parents’ house. Her husband went to his in-laws house to reconcile and bring her back but she refused go with him. On this, he got infuriated and threw a bottle of acid on her face due to which her face got severe burns.
