LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has disposed of an acid attack case notice after it was informed that a police report in the case had been submitted before a Faisalabad anti-terrorism court.
Muhammad Afzal, a resident of Chak Babar, said he had given 150 grams of gold and several sacks of wheat to his father Sher Muhammad for safekeeping.
When he asked him to return these, his father refused and said he had spent all his life’s earning on his children and that it was time for them to pay back. This led to an argument and Sher Muhammad called his other son, Muhammad Ashraf and together they beat up Afzal and threw acid at him.
Afzal’s wife and mother informed the police. Afzal was taken to a hospital where doctors said that he had 60 per cent burns.
The Chiniot district and sessions judge informed the LHC Complaint Cell that Rajoya police had registered a case and arrested all the people nominated in the FIR.
He said the police had submitted a report in the ATC where they were acquitted following a settlement between the two sides.
