LAKKI MARWAT: A woman who was kidnapped three-and-a-half years ago by the notorious Arsal gang of Bhettani tribe in the Frontier Region Lakki, escaped from her captors and reached her home at Kherukhel Pakka village of Lakki Marwat district late Tuesday night, officials in political administration confirmed.

Fozia Bibi was kidnapped along with her father Sherin and sister from Kherukhel Pakka area bordering the Frontier Region Lakki on March 12, 2004. The captors, known as members of dreaded Arsala Khan gang of the area, had killed the sister of Fozia Bibi while her father Sherin escaped. However, Fozia Bibi remained in their custody for nearly three-and-a-half years. Officials said that Fozia reached Miranshah, the headquarters of North Waziristan Agency, by covering a distance of four kilometres on foot from where she was airlifted to Bannu by a helicopter and then sent to her native village.

Personnel of the Frontier Region Lakki political administration escorted her. The political administration of the Frontier Region Lakki has fixed Rs 2.5 million reward for bringing over Arsal Khan either dead or alive to the administration.
