LAHORE: Even though Sattukatla police have named an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and five others including a woman for the kidnap and rape of a 12-year-old girl, nobody has been arrested yet.
The incident took place three weeks ago, but the FIR was registered six days ago.
The police said Safdar, a labourer living at Butt Chowk, Ahmadnagar, had filed a complaint with capital city police officer (CCPO) Malik Muhammad Iqbal a few weeks ago, telling him about the kidnap and rape of his 12-year-old daughter. He had said a serving ASI had also raped her.
Safdar had said that about three weeks ago his neighbour Zarina had taken his daughter to her house to show her some clothes. He said Zarina — with the help of Tariq Masih, Javed Masih, Allah Ditta and Riaz — had kidnapped his daughter, taken her to Faisalabad and raped her there.
Safdar said he told ASI Razzaq about the kidnapping and that Razzaq went to Faisalabad and recovered his daughter. However, he said the ASI did not tell him about the recovery and kept his daughter at his house for three days, raping her all the while.
He said the ASI gave him his daughter 36 hours after having detained her at his house.
Safdar said his daughter told him her ordeal.
SP (Discipline & Inquiry) Sultan Chaudhry received the complaint and ordered Saddar SP Nizam Shahid Durrani to conduct an inquiry. The SP also asked Chung Circle DSP Hassan Sadiq to conduct an inquiry. The DSP found the kidnapping allegations true and ordered the registration of a case against the accused.
Sattukatla police registered a case, but has not arrested anyone yet.
As for the rape, the DSP said a case had registered and investigations were underway. He said, “The initial medical examination report does not support her father’s allegations. Everything will be clear once the major medical report is issued in a few days. The arrests will be made once the report proves that rape has been committed.”
