HARIPUR: The District Development Advisory Committee Chairman and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Member Provincial Assembly Arshad Ayub Khan has said the provincial government is going to direct resources towards better education facilities for girls from the new fiscal year.
He expressed these views while speaking at the participants of enrollment campaign 2019 launching ceremony at the Government High School for Boys No 1 here on Wednesday. The MPA said the PTI government was committed to providing equal education opportunities to girls for building the future of Pakistan on strong basis.
He urged the parents to give equal importance to the education of their daughters as they did for their sons. About the education facilities for girls in Haripur, he said the provincial government had already approved the launch of the classes in the Haripur Medical College from the current academic year while a woman university was also being set up in the district.
The legislator said the available education facilities were being improved while the new institutions in the public sector would improve the socio-economic status of residents of Haripur. He asked the parents and teachers to work hard for achieving the target of 100 per cent enrollment of children of school going age.
Principal, Govt High School for Boys No1, Basharat Khan, District Education Officer Umar Khan Kundi and District Nazim Akhtar Nawaz Khan were among those who spoke on the occasion.
