Kidnapped girl found in 12 hours
RAWALPINDI: A special team of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on Sunday recovered within 12 hours a four-year-old girl, granddaughter of former Frontier Corps (FC) Inspector General (IG) Brig Muhammad Akram, from kidnappers.
CIA officials told Daily Times that Rania, daughter of Muhammad Ali Khan, was kidnapped on Saturday from Street No 12, Chaklala Scheme III. The CIA team, made up of SP (Investigation) Rana Shahid, In Charge (technical support) Muhammad Hanif Qadri, Ahsan Butt, Asif Butt, Khurum Butt, Muhammad Waseem, Faisal Kamran, Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Zaman and Imran Ali Khan, showed excellent progress arresting the kidnappers and recovering the child within 12 hours.
The sources said a housemaid, a driver and his nephew had kidnapped the child. The kidnappers, they said, had demanded Rs 20 million ransom for the girl on telephone, threatening the family that they would kill Rania if police were informed. The family lodged a case with Airport Police Station, nominating maid Shamim Bibi and driver Huncha Gull as potential kidnappers. Having registered a case, the police held a secret meeting with SP (Investigation) Rana Shahid to plan safe recovery of the girl.
The sources said the SP formed a special team of CIA and traced the mobile phone number from which the kidnappers had called the family to demand ransom. Using Mobile Detection System (MDS), the team found that the kidnappers were making phone calls from a house in a slum near Golra. Then the team raided a house in the slum and arrested driver Huncha Gull and his nephew Itabar Khan, who told the investigators that the kidnapped girl was kept in Mardan where Shamim Bibi was looking after her.
At that, the team raided Bibi’s house in Mardan and recovered the girl unharmed.
