LAHORE: A tribal jirga declared a couple karo kari and ordered their murder for marrying of their own will in Sukkur, ARY OneWorld reported. According to the channel, Aqil Dhareejo, an influential figure of the Dharejo tribe, allegedly held a jirga, which declared Dr Ali Akbar Naich and Aaisha Dharejo karo kari for contracting a ‘love marriage’. On receiving information, Sukkur Deputy Inspector General Basheer Memon immediately ordered police to take action against the culprits and provide protection to the couple. Police registered an attempted murder case against Aqil, Ghulam Farid and Nizamuddin and arrested them late on Tuesday.
