Husband, brother arrested as woman strangled for ‘honour’

A 24-year-old woman was strangled apparently in the name of honour allegedly by her husband and a brother in Manghopir’s Madina Colony on Tuesday.

Police said the woman was found murdered at an under construction house. Responding to information, police and rescuers reached the crime scene and took the casualty to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy, where the deceased was identified as Zameera, and wife of Ghulam Haider.

Police suspect that the woman was killed apparently in the name of honour. They have arrested the victim’s husband and a brother for questioning, and registered a case.
