Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace, Kashmala Tariq has said that International Women’s Day is an occasion to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women.
She said that women are performing extraordinary in all sectors. She shared that in recent years, almost 40 per cent of those who qualified as CSP officers are women. “In our Parliament, 21 per cent members are women,” she added.
In a message on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Kashmala said that it is important to sensitize and engage men to ensure women rights. She emphasized on capitalizing maximum potential of women that make more than half of the total population of the country.
She also explained the functions of Harassment Ombudsperson and said that men can also file complaints in the ombudsperson office in case they face any kind of harassment at workplace. “We have to give women confidence so that they could play their role in the national development as many of them have redefined power by building their own successful businesses against all odds,” she said.
