Govt undertaken key reforms to saveguard rights of women: Nadia

Karachi: Coordinator to Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights Nadia Gabol has said that following the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Sindh Government putting its best towards promotion and protection of Human Right particularly of women, children and minorities.

In a message on International Human Rights Day, she said that it is a day to commit ourselves to the cause of human freedom, liberty, dignity and self-esteem. Ms Nadia said that women, children and minorities are more vulnerable to exploitation adding that government has therefore undertaken key legal, economic administrative reforms in line with the vision of Shaheed Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto.

She said maintaining law & order and provision of Justice to masses is top priority of Government so as to create responsible society which is mandatory for the socio- economic, cultural and political development of country.

It is particularly important in present era when country is facing challenges of terrorism and extremism, she added. Provincial Human Rights Coordinator said that a directorate of Human Rights has been established in Sindh to ensure the rights of deprived section of society, whereas five centers has been established in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Ghotaki, and Dadu to provide free legal assistance to needy people. She has called upon civil society organizations, NGO’s and philanthropists to build up their efforts for creating just and tolerant society.
