Girls primary school without teacher for long

SIALKOT: The Govt Girls Primary School Malooka, Sialkot Tehsil, having strength of 180 students, has been without any teacher for the last several months, putting future of the future generation at stake and exposing the tall claims of the government regarding the promotion of education.

According to details, there has been no teacher in the Govt Girls Primary School since long, although reportedly the Sialkot Educational Department had appointed a female teacher for the school some month ago. However, it has been learnt that the said teacher also left the school due to some unknown reasons and since then the school has been “teacher-less” which has put a question mark on the future of 180 girl students. Sumbal, a Class 5th student in the school, often become a teacher to teach other students.

When contacted, Sialkot EDO (Education) Riaz Ahmed Sohi assured of tangible steps to address the situation.
Meanwhile, local notables including Naseem Ahmed Ghuman (former Nazim UC Rorars), Muhammad Anwar Pehalwan (former councillor), Muhammad Suleman, Muhammad Farooq, Abid Hussain, Arif Ahmed, Muhammad Aslam, Nadeem Hussain, Muhammad Azam, Muhammad Nadeem, Ali Asghar and Muhammad Arshad have expressed grave concern over the situation. They have urged Sialkot DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu to ensure early appointment of teachers in the school.
