Girls outshine boys in HSC-I exam

HYDERABAD: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Hyderabad has announced the result of Higher Secondary Certificate part-II (class-XII) Humanities (regular/private) and Commerce groups annual examination 2011, on Tuesday.

According to the face sheet of Humanities group, among boys, Mohammad Nisar, of Shah Waliullah Government College in Mansoorah and Mohammad Amir, of Government Higher Secondary School of Halepota in Hyderabad, have secured the first and second positions by obtaining 788 and 784 marks respectively. Mohammad Ilyas of Shah Waliullah Government College in Mansoorah bagged the third position with 780 marks.

Among girls, Rida Saeed of Government Nazareth Girls College secured the first position by obtaining 811 marks. Sumia Nourain of the Government Girls College of Badin and Jabina Kausar of Workers Intermediate College for Girls, Site in Kotri, secured the second and the third positions with 807 and 799 marks respectively.

Total 6,473 regular/private students, including 2,453 girl students, appeared in the humanities group examination. Of them 5,576 students, including 2,138 girl students, were declared pass while result of 131 students has been withheld for one or the other reason. The percentage on the whole is 86.14 per cent.
