Girl’s death: hospital’s MD held

LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Monday four people, including the managing director, of the Doctors’ Hospital had been arrested in connection with the death of a three-year-old girl.

Mr Sanaullah told reporters Dr Sandeep Kumar who allegedly had administered wrong injections to the girl was at large. He said Dr Faiza Asghar, member of board of directors of the hospital, had probably left the country. Imanae was taken to Doctors’ Hospital on Nov 29 for treatment of a minor burn on her hand. She died minutes after being administered the sedative that was not meant for children.

Two committees made by the chief minister and the PMA to probe the death of the girl recommended strict action against three doctors and the hospital’s administration.
