LAKKI MARWAT: An eight-year-old girl, who had been kidnapped from Karachi around a month ago, was safely recovered in Bannu district on Tuesday, the police confirmed.
An official said a party of Saddar police station raided a suspected hideout and recovered the girl,
Ahmadia Bibi. He said three kidnappers, identified as Abubakar, his wife Huma Bibi and Asad, were
arrested during the raid.
The official said the incident had occurred in the limits of Site Super Highway police station in Karachi
East district.
The official said the arrested suspects belonged to the Pishtakhara Chowk, Peshawar.
Vice-chancellors TAKE CHARGE: Prof Aurangzeb Khan and Prof Mohammad Tahir Khan Khalil
assumed charge of the offices of vice-chancellors of the University of Lakki Marwat and Khushal Khan
Khattak University, Karak, respectively, on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, the varsity staff and officers received Dr Aurangzeb with a warm welcome.
After assuming charge of responsibilities, the newly-posted VC said that he would leave no stone
unturned to transform the Lakki varsity into an institution of imparting research-based quality education to youth in a real sense.
The newly-posted vice-chancellor of Karak varsity also brings with him extensive experience in higher
education leadership and a distinguished professional career.
Dr Tahir Khalil also served as dean and vice-president for academics at the International Islamic
University, Islamabad, and exhibited his leadership skills in promoting academic development, fostering
research and enhancing the overall quality of education.
