Free will marriage couple gunned down

MANDI BAHAUDDIN – Man killed his sister and brother-in-law for contracting love marriage here the other day.

As per detail, Safdar Iqbal and Yasmeen, residents of Bhagowal Village situated in Tehsil Malakwal eloped from their house some nine months ago and contracted free will marriage. Later, the parents of the couple compromised at which the couple returned house. However, brother of the girl namely Munawar who had nurtured a grudge was not ready to accept the compromise. He along with other five accomplices went to Dera of Safdar Iqbal where they shot the couple dead. The police handed over the bodies to the families after autopsy and registered a case against the accused.
