On February 04, a four-year-old girl found in a critical condition after allegedly being sexually assaulted and thrown into a drain in Kasur’s Mustafabad. The child, discovered semi-conscious with severe injuries, was initially treated at the District Headquarters Hospital in Kasur before being transferred to Lahore General Hospital for further care.
Police reports indicate that the assault was reported from the area under the jurisdiction of Mustafabad police station. The victim was found in a filthy drain, exhibiting deep wounds. Following her discovery by rescue teams, she was moved to a hospital where a nine-member medical board was established to oversee her treatment.
Authorities have registered a case against unidentified suspects under the charge led by the SHO of Mustafabad. Efforts to identify and capture the assailant are ongoing, with police teams formed under the supervision of SP Investigation. The police are utilizing mosque announcements and reviewing CCTV footage in the area to aid in their search.
The condition of the child, post-operation, is now stable and she has been shifted to a ward, although her identity remains unconfirmed. Police have issued advertisements seeking relatives or anyone who can identify the child.
District Police Officer (DPO) of Kasur, Muhammad Isa Khan, assured that the suspect will be apprehended soon as the investigation intensifies. Meanwhile, the medical staff at Lahore General Hospital are closely monitoring the child’s recovery, hoping for her full recuperation after the traumatic event.
